What’s Your World Changing Ambition?
In a world built by risk-takers, why are we so hesitant to chase the extraordinary?
I am sitting in a cafe in what used to be a swamp (now gentrified to a megapolis), sipping a flat white, and typing on Medium’s excellent UX running on an ultrafast processor and reaching out to a 100k+ global readership.
Every single component of what I am able to do now is a testament to someone’s gamble.
Every single piece of our existence today represents a leap of faith — somebody’s audacious bet on the future.
Yet, when I converse with peers or watch contemporary narratives unfold on screen, it strikes me: many seem to be playing it safe, barely scratching the surface of their potential.
Comfort is dangerously addictive. Are our dreams so muted, our ambitions so tempered that we shy away from the discomfort needed to achieve them? I’m not dismissing the hardworking many who hustle with tenacity. But honestly, their numbers are few, their impacts even fewer.
