Stoicism 101: The Art of Expanding Control Without the Worry
Create, capture, control, conquer.
Stoicism, the ancient Roman’s finest export (yes, even beating their aqueducts and saunas), champions a principle I’ve woven into the fabric of my life: focus solely on what’s within your control.
It’s a doctrine that’s practical, empowering, and, frankly, sanity-saving. As a staunch practitioner, I’ve tasted its holistic benefits firsthand.
But here’s where the plot thickens. This Stoic gem, while liberating, shouldn’t become an excuse to shrink your world. Quite the opposite.
Life, in my candid opinion, is about grabbing responsibility by the horns. It’s about stretching your boundaries, being the master of all you survey – from the creases in your trousers to the heights your ambitions reach.
And herein lies the delicious irony: While Stoicism teaches us to fret only over our dominion, there’s an inherent call to action – to broaden that dominion.
It’s about growth, about extending our reach beyond the imaginable, about embracing the complexities and the challenges that come with it.
Embracing this paradox is not for the timid.
