Sleep Is the Answer To Most Of My Questions

Renewed hope, optimism, wonder, awe, amusement. Sleep does that for me. It’s like magic.

Seriously. I absolutely love sleeping. It’s just the bloody best. Picture this: room slightly cooler, fresh breeze wafting in, one leg out of the blanket, the other draped over the Mrs. Podcast running in the background, lulling me into a serene slumber. Absolute bliss. I love it so much.

Every problem I’ve ever faced, I’ve slept it off and woken up with an answer. Renewed hope, optimism, wonder, awe, amusement. Sleep does that for me. It’s like magic.

I’ve never had trouble sleeping. I guess I’m lucky? Heartbreak, depression, fatigue, nervousness, boredom… I can sleep through it all. I sleep like the dead too. Never once waking, although the Mrs has complained a couple of times that I sleep-talk. Imagine waking up to a sun-kissed gorgeous London morning. Even in winter. Sigh. A thing of beauty. And that glorious zone from 2 to 5 AM — pure snoozefest bliss, pure REM I hope. Strangely, I never remember a single dream.

It’s not just nighttime either. I love afternoon snoozes. Maybe it’s genetic, maybe it’s a lifestyle thing, but I’ve often slumbered away for at least an hour during the day. Something so comforting, so relaxing about it. I literally…
