The post-Xmas slump is real.

Entering a bleak January after December’s revelry is tough. But inevitable.

January means a fresh start, a blank page, a new leaf, and an optimistic to-do list. Making resolutions at the peak of your mojo is easy, sticking to them at your lowest is impossible.

These three free hacks have helped me ease the transition.

Take A Nap

It’s your body’s soft reset.

Time it right — I do it straight after I finish work. It separates my “work” from “play”.

Not sleepy? Even so, take an hour out, lie down, get a comfy pillow, close your eyes, and do nothing. No screens or sounds. Just you, lying down, clearing your mind, doing zilch.

Let your mind wander or rest, it doesn’t matter.

This isn’t tantric meditation — it’s just you lying down and doing nothing. How easy is that? Do it and feel how invigorated you are for the rest of the evening. And then repeat every day.

Take A Cold Shower

You just shivered at the thought.
