Excellent article Raven- you introduce and expand on the concept of conscious and unconscious bias eloquently. Really zesty, passionate, succinct writing.

I've written an article titled "You Don't Know What You Don't Know" based on learnings from Matthew Syed's "Rebel Ideas" which focuses more on the question of WHY diversity is important as opposed to your view of HOW to make diversity happen. I think it complements your piece perfectly and I would love it if you could provide me with some feedback.

Further, your story reminds me of Caroline Perez's also excellent "Invisible Women". Pulling data from all walks of life, Perez’s “feminism for dummies” is an essential guide for identifying inherent male-bias, understanding the unintended consequences of inequality and a call to action to fix the widening gender data gap. It taught me that it has never been a level-playing field for women and there’s still so much more to do before anything resembling equality can be reached.

I think it's a perfect companion piece to your wonderful writing, do let me know what you think!
