Embracing Discomfort.

Lateish start this morning too. Still sundrenched lawn, still stretching and pushing up and squatting down. Does two days count as a routine? Let’s see.

Le Carre’s mesmeric writing had me captivated for most of the afternoon. Once the sun set and the mental Belgaum traffic, whose primary function is to honk as much as possible, settled down, we made a short visit to the bazaar. I had unearthed my ancient Seiko watch from my parents home, and was looking to reincorporate into my new wardrobe. So I got it fixed – replaced batteries really – finally bought some underwear & vests, found a proper teal Pathani top that I couldn’t in Bangalore, and had a large assortment of spicy-sweet chats for dinner.

Wanted to experience a single screen Belgaum cinema again, so convinced my folks and Mrs to watch Dunki at the ungodly 9:30pm showing. The theatre was about 10% full, with sound turned to 11 and the AC set even higher. 3 hours of high fluting melodrama later, we dissected the movie to smithereens on the drive back home.

Bed beckoned at 1am. Tomorrow would be a day of quiet reflection and ironclad discipline, I reckon. Till then!
