25th and 26th November
Here’s the weekend edition.
Saturday started off with a heated discussion about the merits and demerits of feminism in a packed northern line tube. Breakfast (I broke my OMAD rule!) was a gigantic pistachio-filled croissant (bigger than a pumpkin, tbh), and some deliciously creamy flat white. So good that I got the signed up for the subscription to get the exact beans delivered home monthly. I think I found my new cuppa.
We spent most of the day strolling through gorgeous South Kensington — what a place to live. I spent an inordinate amount of time double and triple checking the price of a haircut & shave — 65 great British pounds. Knightsbridge’s finest. Let’s see, I might even try it out.
The science museum soaked up a good 4 hours. Gorgeous, eclectic collection of items all through history. All laid out in a fantastical mausoleum-esque structure.
Particular exhibit that stood out to me was the “everyday life in the 60's & 70's” section — pretty much the same quotidian things we have today except so much better made, quality workmanship, superior attention to detail, lovely packaging. So vastly different from our mass produced items in our cupboards today. Made me reminiscence about a time that I never lived, where real people worked real jobs to build real products to real people…
