Wednesday night is date night, remember?
After the havoc yesterday, I spent most of my day working through the wrecks of what occurred. Picking out the debris, proportioning blame, identifying process gaps (craters!), pushing back and negotiating with end customers, lining all my internal stakeholders….ahh the behind the scenes orchestration. The joys and thrills, innit.
Mrs came over to the office around 5ish. Just after I finished. Strolled around Zone 1, before nipping into a Burger King takeaway for a scrumptious dinner. Have you noticed normal Coke has a sugar tax on it while Coke Zero doesn’t? Anyway, I digress. We get on the eternally slow Circle line, get off at a glitzy Westminster, walk across the bridge while soaking in the London skyline, and the glossy pink London Eye before settling into our plush seats for the updated, theatrical edition of “Witness For The Prosection” in an actual courtroom at London County Hall — a setting Mrs Christie would’ve been so proud of.
The acting was magnificent, the plot was deliciously devious, the music was on point, the drinks were overpriced, and the show was a roaring success. I absolutely love the theatre!
Another quick tube ride back home — after walking though some utterly gorgeous graffiti-strewn alleys — and straight into bed. I was knackered and it was barely Wednesday. And I have a mountain of work to do, both business and personal over the next couple days. Nothing new there.
Onwards and upwards!
