Daily Diary
2nd December, 2023
Tried out a new chick GQ-powered look this morning. Navy suit, burnt orange T-shirt, white sneakers, leather trench. What better occasion for it than a shopping trip to Camden? A place where the prerequisite to entry is that you are so unabashedly out-there, free from any judgement, bereft of all insecurities and living life loud and proud.
It was jammers as usual. So many boutiques selling all manner of stuff. From a knockoff DateJust (my wishlist watch) to Taylor swift tops and leather YSL handbags. We strolled through most of the shops — browsing, perusing, haggling. A good shopping day all in all, at least for me. Not so much for the Mrs Cause I kept pushing her to decide on stuff she wants asap so we can be back home in time for the Arsenal kickoff.
Obviously we didn’t, but we did make it home for the second half. Routine 3 points. Then I powered through some ironing for the week, had an all day breakfast with the whole works and a can of baked beans for dinner, couple glasses of whisky while watching “The Prisoner”. Oh which meant I subscribed to Disney Plus and that we’ve officially stopped bothering with “Inventing Anna” and “The Staircase”.
The Mrs hit the sack early as I spent about an hour reading through the latest Wired magazine. Earmark couple of interesting articles to read on the next commute — an interview with the Google CEO and a few off-kilter predictions for 2024.
There you have it — first weekend in December done and dusted. Plenty more shenanigans to come am sure, but this was a quiet subdued one.
The calm before the storm perhaps?
