Embracing Discomfort.

Woke up with a fright. Apparently I was sleep talking most of the night? I know my dad does that, and now it seems those genes have definitely woken up in me. Anyway, lesson learnt — something new about myself.

First time I wore a pocket square to work today. And a tie clip. Is it too vain of me to say that those tiny additions make me look like an absolute demigod? Anyway — sartorial game on point from now on.

Aced my work tasks, nothing too hectic yet. I reckon the West is going through the early stages of the ritual pre-Xmas hibernation. Which after my action/packed year, is a welcome break.

Dinner was the best beef burger I’ve ever eaten. And a glass of coke, would you believe. And lots of tiramisu. Gave up on “inventing Anna” — not my cuppa tea. I’ve realised I like situation/based stuff more than human-centric stuff, if that makes sense? My empathy refuses to engage after a certain point. Watched the scripted version of “the staircase” signed — and an episode and a hit in, I can safely say Colin Firth is a helluva actor. Let’s see how long this keeps my attention.

Was too TV-stimulated to bother reading, chip war lies unopened beside me in bed. As does the latest edition of GQ and Wired. I’ll get to them soon I promise, just not today.

Spoon the Mrs to bed, and exchange sweet nothings all through the night.

Wednesday awaits.
