Embracing Discomfort.

18 kilometres. That’s how much I walked today.

Up, down, sideways, underground and all over Oxford, Regent and Bond streets. With packed bags carrying an assortment of brand-new goodies, ranging from hair straighteners to a two-piece Super 140s suit, to British-grown cacao powder.

My first ever Black Friday and after about a grand and 12 hours of hard walking, I am convinced I had a good time. Earlier, I spent most of the day in a lonely office — everyone WFH being a Thanksgiving Friday. Pushed most of my afternoon calls to early Monday, freeing up my evening and night for retail therapy. But it does mean my coming Monday will be a pedal-to-the-metal dash to the finish line: I have a gigantic customer presentation to lead at 4 pm.

Still, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Left my laptop in the office, logged in and whizzing away while I take a much-needed digital detox this weekend. The new edition of my GQ subscription arrived, it’ll keep me busy on Sunday. Arsenal are finally back on the telly this weekend — that’ll keep my evenings going. More on this tomorrow.

Oh almost forgot! The office receptionist complimented my look! I must be doing something right.

Anyway, that’s your lot. Catch you later!
