December’s here.
Frost everywhere. Real feel -4 degrees. Ditch the bike today and take the tube instead. The tube whizzes through Canary Wharf, gorgeous sun-kissed skyline on a foggy morning. Beautiful imagery. And I can’t help but think my brand new khaki green, Burberry knock-off trench coat just adds to the scenery.
Pop into Moss Bros on my walk in to the office. Store open at 8AM, lovely. Grab a tie clip to complete my outfit. Skip my regular flat white and get a cuppa tea instead. And then spend most of the day working on a million different things. Book Agatha Christie’s courtroom drama for our next date night, and a 2-hour spa for the date night after that. Buy a flashy knitted navy tie and a bright red pocket square.
Work is taking a serious toll on me — way too many fires and I am not sure if I should even be diffusing any of them. I really need a strategic session with myself soon. Maybe this weekend.
Tesco meal deal for lunch. First time in a long time.
Went out for a few post-work drinks. Lots of banter and laughter and beer. Then the tube home again to meet the Mrs and binge-watch the Staircase and drift to bed. No reading for third day in the row. Need to get back on the horse asap.
Bit of a subdued day really, general fatigue is my early diagnosis. Will reload on Friday, relaunch over the weekend, and set the world ablaze again from Monday.
