Morning folks. Back to sanity again. Let me elaborate.
So, Tuesday morning was our routine checkup with the local NHS midwives. We are almost 6-months pregnant you see, and this was supposed to be a run-of-the-mill mum and baby health KPI check. Except because the Mrs had a slightly “elevated” BP reading we were asked to immediately go to the doctor for advice. So we drove across town to the doctor, waited for a couple hours to see him, and were promptly told to stay in the hospital for a couple to days for BP-monitor by cause they were concerned about the readings.
As you can imagine, we complied. In a fairly positive state of mind too. Cause we didn’t feel, and we still don’t feel, like this was that big a deal. Anyway, 36 hours of hospital hospitality followed by numerous more BP checks, mediations, doctors frowning, nurses nursing, food on demand, slow WiFi, and the best teabags in the world, we were finally told we are okay to leave. So much ado about nothing I guess but also rather safe than sorry too. So yeah, quite the experience!
We celebrated our release by driving to the south coast in the blistering summer sun, top-down on the mini. Placed a deposit on our first ever “new” car, straight from the dealership, signed the paperwork, and voila – are expecting the fancy new Nissan to be ready for pick up imminently. #exciting
We then celebrated the car purchase with some legit Nigerian food in south Croydon. Expensive but super authentic, hella spicy, and plenty of leftovers to chow down today.
Whew. There you go, eventful couple of days. Back to to the office for me today to prep a mega presentation for tomorrow. Till then!
