Lazy lie in this morning after a pretty uneventful Saturday, entertainment wise.
Woke up at a doozy 10am, did a spot of wardrobe cleansing for the hectic work week, spoke to both sets of parents via WhatsApp and ventured out hand in hand for a Sunday in Zone 1.
Well, actually Zone 5 to start with.
All abroad to Harrow-on-the-hill. The new Liz line is handy AF. Got us there in an hour, and we spent another hour strolling through charity shops, trying on jackets and tops, before we eventually made it to paradise. Or at least, authentic Indian vegetarian food paradise. A 25 quid outlay got us an absolute mouthful of spice and thrills and dopamine hits. Amazing taste, almost like we were back in Jayanagar. Then we walked to the next establishment where we had some Gujarati fare for ridiculously cheap prices, and picked up Cashmere shawls for Xmas gifts back home. Excellent value for money, to be fair.
Back on the tube to central London to catch a cosy, partly unscripted comedy gig above a function room in a pub in Kennington. Rich Hall was the main attraction, but the other two acts weren’t bad either. Rekindled my hitherto latent desire for doing stand-up myself, so I had a quick word with one of the acts who seemingly pointed me in the right direction. Is it worth the investment, I ponder to myself? Perhaps. Let’s see if I can squeeze it into my already chockablock schedule.
Even had a couple points of Guinness. Not bad at all, considering how far we are from Dublin. Reasonably priced too. My first ever Sunday drink btw. Might make a habit of this.
Long trudge back home and straight into bed. Eventful Sunday alright!
Time to get back on the saddle now.
